Objective of Roulette
The game of Roulette is played by spinning a small ball
around a wheel that contains thirty-seven numbered slots.
When the wheel stops, the ball comes to rest in one of
these slots. The object of Roulette is to correctly
predict the slot in which the ball will land. By
predicting the right number, you earn a payoff on your
bet. The size of the payoff depends on how the bet was
placed.
Types of Bets
You can place ten different kinds of bets on the Roulette
table. Each type of bet covers a certain range of numbers,
and each type has its own payoff rate. The short lines of
three numbers each are called rows or streets on the
board, while the longer lines, each holding twelve spaces,
are called columns.
The Straight Bet This is a bet on
any single number and odds of 35-1 are paid on a winning
number.
The Column Bet This bet is placed on
any of the three columns of twelve numbers running along
the table. The odds are 2-1 for a winning bet. If 0 comes
up, the column bets lose.
The Dozens Bet This bet is placed on
the outside boxes marked 1st, 2nd and 3rd 12. The player
will bet on numbers 1 to 12, numbers 13 to 24 and/or
numbers 25 to 36. The odds are 2-1 for a winning bet. If 0
comes up the dozens bets lose.
Black or Red Bet A player can bet on
either a black or red number coming up. The odds here are
even (1-1). If 0 comes up the black and red bets lose.
Odd or Even Bet A player can bet on
either an odd or even number coming up. The odds here are
even (1-1). Again, if 0 comes up the odd and even bets
lose.
High or Low Number Bet The player
can bet on the high box (1 to 18) or the low box (19 to
36). The odds are even (1-1) for the winning bet. If 0
comes up the high and low bets lose.
The Two Number or Split Bet A player
may place a bet on any line that divides any two adjacent
numbers. The bet is that either of those two numbers will
come up. The odds are 17-1.
The Row or Street Bet A player can
bet on the three numbers in a row on the table by placing
the bet/chip(s) on the outside of that row. The bet is
that one of the three numbers will come up. The odds are
11-1.
The Corner or Square Bet The bet is
placed on the intersection of four numbers. The bet is
that one of these four numbers will come up. The odds are
8-1 for a winning number.
The Six Number Bet This bet is
placed on the outside of the line that splits two rows of
numbers. This will cover all six numbers. The bet is that
one of the six numbers will come up. The odds here are 5-1
for a winning number.
Placing Bets
To place a chip on the table, move the mouse pointer to
that part of the table where you want to put the chip and
press the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON. This will put a chip on the
table at your chosen position.
To increase the value of your bet,
keep the mouse pointed at the same spot and continue to
press the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON. Each time you press the LEFT
MOUSE BUTTON, the number inside the chip will increase,
showing you the value of the chip that you have placed in
that position.
To decrease the value of a chip on
the table, press the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. When you decrease
the value of the chip to 0, it will automatically be
removed from the table. You can use this method to remove
chips which you no longer want on the table. This is done
by clicking on the chip with the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON until
it disappears.
Four buttons to the right of the
'spin' button have been included for your convenience.
They are described below:
CLEAR ALL BETS: This
button will remove all chips currently on the table.
REPEAT LAST BET: This
button will wipe off those chips currently on the table
(if any) and replace them with the chip positions and
denominations that were on the table the LAST time you
pressed the 'spin' button.
CLEAR LAST ACTION: This
button will clear your last action. In other words, if
your last action involved placing a chip, this button will
remove the chip. It your last action involved removing a
chip, this button will replace that chip (together with
its original value.) The game remembers your last actions
and, if continually pressed, will clear each previous
action in turn.
UNDO: This
button undoes the effects of the other buttons. If pressed
immediately after the 'CLEAR ALL BETS' button, it will
replace the bets that you had on the table prior to
pressing the 'CLEAR ALL BETS' button. If the UNDO button
is pressed immediately after pressing 'REPEAT LAST BET'
button, the bets currently on the table would be replaced
with the bets that you had on the table prior to pressing
the 'REPEAT LAST BET' button. If the UNDO button is
pressed after you have pressed the 'CLEAR LAST ACTION'
button, it will reverse the effects of having cleared the
last action. PLEASE NOTE that the four buttons above do
NOT in any way affect the game. They are MERELY for the
player's convenience in placing chips on the table. You
need not use them should you wish. To speed up the placing
of your bets on the table, press the CTRL or the SHIFT key
when pressing the left or right mouse button. When the
CTRL key is held down, the chip value will
increase/decrease with each mouse click by an amount of 5
credits. The SHIFT key has a similar effect except it
results in an increase/decrease of 20 credits!
Helpful Hint

Spinning the Ball
Once you have placed your bets on the table, press the
'spin' button. This will set the ball rolling. When the
ball comes to rest, the game will automatically highlight
the winning bets and you will be paid out the standard
odds accordingly. (Please note all outside bets lose on
0).
Players cannot spin the ball unless
they have at least 1 credit on the table.
